Defu Technology’s research and development efforts focus on the technological advancements of copper foil production, based on electrochemistry and materials science. It has established the Everest Laboratory and Kuafu Laboratory, which form a systematic R&D system covering fundamental research on crystal structure, simulation and analysis, modular development of process modules, and testing and evaluation of product samples. We have developed a core technological system centered around the fundamental theory and microscopic research of copper foil, as well as techniques such as ultrafine and coarse grain refining of copper foil.
We have integrated advanced testing and simulation technologies into our platform. This includes the implementation of cyclic voltammetry stripping testing and COMSOL multiphysics simulation techniques. We have also established the industry's first simulation and experimental laboratory. To support the continuous improvement of copper foil manufacturing, we have acquired state-of-the-art equipment such as high-resolution scanning electron microscopes (SEM), electron backscatter diffraction analysis (EBSD), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers, laser confocal microscopes, and vector network analyzers. These advanced tools enable us to enhance the production of copper foil and provide valuable
support in terms of analysis, characterization, and optimization processes. In terms of industry-academia collaboration, we have established partnerships and engaged in exchanges with leading academic institutions such as Peking University, Xiamen University, and South China University of Technology. This collaboration allows us to stay at the forefront of industry developments, maintain a continuous capacity for innovation and creativity, and drive the continuous improvement of copper foil manufacturing technology. Through our research and development platform and the translation of research outcomes into products, we commit to advancing copper foil manufacturing technology and promoting the sustainable development of the copper foil industry. DeFu Technology's intelligent platform integrates various application systems, including ERP, MES, QMS, and BI, with a focus on sales, resources, production, and services. The platform aims to achieve end-to-end management of enterprise orders. By utilizing data collection and supervisory control systems (SCADA) for collecting production data from distributed control systems (DCS), the platform combines technologies such as K8S, big data analytics, and RFID to integrate, efficiently store, and manage IT and OT data. Through this integration, we have achieved breakthroughs in key technologies such as flexible intelligent production lines specifically designed for copper foil production, visualization of product quality management, and predictive maintenance and fault diagnosis of equipment. We have also introduced a significant number of intelligent production, testing, and storage equipment. These advancements have led to highly efficient enterprise operations management and have positioned us at the forefront of the copper foil industry in terms of intelligent manufacturing throughout the entire production process.
DeFu Technology places a strong emphasis on quality. We strive to achieve lean operational management and stringent quality control measures while adhering to standardized system management. Our company has obtained the IATF 16949 certification for automotive industry quality management systems, positioning us as a leader in implementing the core tools of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) in the copper foil industry. With the introduction of German clients, we have adopted the core tools of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), successfully implementing the VDA 6.3 process audit standard and nurturing a group of exceptional auditors. Through the implementation of lean production, Six Sigma, and other management strategies, we aim to continually enhance and upgrade our products. This includes advancing lithium-ion copper foils to ultra-thin copper foils, electronic circuit copper foils to high-performance HTE copper foils, and iterative improvements on 5G communication copper foils. We also prioritize the ongoing improvement of product mechanical strength, conductivity, consistency, and battery safety, among other aspects. Our commitment to excellence ensures that DeFu products maintain the highest standards of quality in the industry.
Over the years, DeFu Technology has maintained a strong focus on scientific and technological innovation. We boast a well-established research and development team, currently consisting of over 200 members. This team includes more than 10 individuals with doctoral degrees, one professor-level senior engineer, two senior engineers, and over 100 engineers. To further enhance our capabilities, the company has introduced professional lean production coaching organizations. We have conducted specialized training programs for the entire company, including departments such as research and development, production, technology, quality control, and production support. Presently, 25 employees have successfully passed the Six Sigma Black Belt theory exam, and one project has been awarded the Black Belt certification. Our team possesses professional technical expertise, enabling us to provide our clients with professional and high-quality services.
DeFu Technology's industrial chain advantages can be seen in several aspects: Firstly, our supply chain layout is a key strength. We have established a strategic partnership with Baiyin Nonferrous Group, ensuring a stable supply of cathode copper. This support has been instrumental in the construction and release of copper foil production capacity. Secondly, we possess a significant capacity advantage. Currently, our company has a manufacturing capacity of 125,000 tons per year for copper foil. This capacity positions us as an absolute leader among domestic peers, providing a reliable copper foil supply to downstream customers. Thirdly, we have extended our industrial chain. We have invested in and established several subsidiary companies in the upstream of the industrial chain. These subsidiaries include core raw materials and spare parts such as additives, cathode rollers, and anode plates. This extension improves our procurement efficiency and mitigates the operational risks associated with price fluctuations in upstream raw materials and spare parts. It significantly enhances our ability to withstand risks and uncertainties.
